How long does it take to paint a Groovie?

Our Groovies come in all levels — from “super simple” to “ooh, that’s fancy!” How long you spend is totally up to you: quick artists can wrap up in about 20 minutes, while detail lovers might enjoy an hour (or more!) of brush time.

What ages can paint a Groovie?

If your kiddo can hold a crayon, they’re ready for their first Groovie! We’ve seen little artists as young as 3 have a blast with our Little Groovies. And whether you’re a total newbie or a seasoned artist, you’ll leave with a masterpiece worth showing off.

What are the dimensions?

• Original: 8 x 10 inches

• Little: 5 x 7 inches

• Thickness: 0.15 inch (3.5mm)

Will it fit in a regular picture frame?

Absolutely! Originals fit perfectly in 8x10 frames, and Littles are a snug fit for 5x7 frames. (Psst… we have frames available for purchase, too!)

What’s your return policy?

If you’re not totally in love with your Groovie, send it back and we’ll refund you — no problem. The only exceptions are custom pieces and event purchases.

My Groovie arrived a little warped. What now?

Sometimes the heat from printing can give the canvas a slight curve — but don’t worry, it won’t affect your fun!

1. Frame it – Once it’s framed, it flattens beautifully.

2. Flatten it yourself – Lightly mist the front, then place a flat, heavy object on top.

Are Groovies fully gessoed?

Yep! The surface is smooth, primed, and ready for paint. Just add color! 

What’s the Tap/Scan Me feature?

• Tap – On Original Groovies, just tap your phone near the top of the canvas to unlock extras.

• Scan – On Little Groovies, open your phone’s camera and scan the QR code.

I don’t know how to mix colors.

We’ve got you covered! Each Groovie comes with a suggested color palette via Tap or Scan. Recipes are given in drops of paint — for example: pink = 1 red + 3 white.
(A “smidgen” means just the tiniest dab.)
